Wade Schalles

Wade-SchallesDuring his competitive days, Sports Illustrated said Mr. Schalles was “the most exciting wrestler to ever walk onto a wrestling mat.” Amateur Wrestling News selected him as the best middleweight of the 20th century. Dan Gable called him, “the greatest pinner he’s ever seen!” He’s in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most wins and pins of anyone who has ever wrestled. He has won 15 national championships in five different combative disciplines... Judo, Sombo, Freestyle, Folkstyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.

Additionally, Mr. Schalles was the very first Pennsylvanian to ever be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame; was selected during his years in the sport as the country’s “Athlete of the Year;” was named “National Coach of the Year”; and also voted “World’s Greatest Wrestler” by coaches from around the globe for pinning all of his opponents at the World Championships. During his collegiate days at Clarion University, Mr. Schalles won 4 NCAA Championships and is the only Division I wrestler to pin over 100 opponents, an NCAA record.

Mr. Schalles has authored two bestselling books on the sport and his video tape series on wrestling is the best selling instructional tapes on the market today. In 2002 he was named Man of the Year by the Amateur Athletic Union; in 2003 named Sportswriter of the Year by the National Wrestling Media Association and during the 1990’s was one of the highest rated wrestling officials in America. In 2005 he was named to the NCAA's 75th Anniversary Team, a distinction that only fourteen other collegiate wrestlers share with him. Currently Mr. Schalles is the country’s most popular and only syndicated columnist in the sport.

For the last six years he has coached at Oviedo high school in Orlando, Florida. During those years his teams won four state championships and finished third twice. During his career he has personally coached or his creative technique has touched the lives of hundreds of State, National, World and Olympic Champions.

JD-RobbinsJD is a Gold Level Certified Coach at USA Wrestling and in the last 7 years his Florida Jets have been the best wrestling club in the Southeastern United States. For his coaching skills and devotion to the sport he was named USA Wrestling’s National Coach of the Year, Southeastern United States Coach of the Year, 3-time California and Florida Coach of the Year and is currently the President of the Florida High School Coaches Association. His Jet program has won 14 Senior National Championships and during his tenure as a wrestling coach he has helped his wrestled receive over 7 million dollars in scholarship aid for college.

 



Jonathan “JJ” Johnson

Raw 241 Wrestling Club, Mantua, NJ


JJ-JohnsonJJ was a 3X NCAA All-American during his collegiate days and as the director of RAW 241, has produced four athletes that finished their high school careers as the Number #1 wrestler in the nation. That’s more than any other club in America and more than any other state in the country, let alone clubs. Three of his wrestlers have captured the Walsh Jesuit Ironman Championships, four won the Beast of the East Championships, three was named to the ASICS First Team and two won the NHSCA Senior Nationals. Additionally, three Raw 241 trained wrestlers were Fargo Champions and one of his club members was named the Nation's #1 Overall Recruit in America plus the Hodge Award Winner and the ASICS Wrestler of the Year. This past year two of the nations Division I NCAA Champions, Darrion Caldwell and Jason Burroughs, came from Raw 241.

 

Chris Marshall

marshall_new During his competitive years Chris was a two-time state high school champion, first in Virginia and then again his senior year in Pennsylvania. Both years he was named the states Most Outstanding Wrestler for defeating two individuals who were each going for their third state title. Collegiately he was named Freshman of the Year by the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) while wrestling for Clarion University. Three years later he graduated from Central Michigan University as a two-time NCAA Division I All-American, a three-time AAU National Champion and Gold Medalist at the prestigious Midlands Championships*. Known as “Air Marshall” by his friends, Chris would launch whomever he didn't single leg. Just as he was as an athlete, Mr. Marshall’s is once again nationally known for his skill on the mats as an early childhood educator and only the Bonomo brothers from Pennsylvania are his equals. His skill as an educator, coach and entertainer is unparalleled.

 

Dan Sirotkin

Dan-SirotkinDan Sirotkin graduated from Quince Orchard HS where he was the County Champion his senior year. As a recruited athlete he attended Harvard to wrestle and play lacrosse for the Crimson - both were Top 20 programs while he was there. Upon graduating with honors in 2005, he began working for the US Government while volunteering to coach football and wrestling at QO. In 2008 Dan assumed similar roles at the Landon School where he now coaches.

 

 

 

Todd Levin

Todd-LevinWith eight years of wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience under his belt Todd joined the staff of EagleHawk Academy in the Fall of 2009. His main duty is the administration and coordination of the academies various student counselors.

Despite National Wrestling Hall of Famer Wade Schalles' collegiate, national and international career successes, the 58-year old's fondest memory is winning his first and only Pennsylvania high school state championship.

Despite National Wrestling Hall of Famer Wade Schalles' collegiate, national and international career successes, the 58-year old's fondest memory is winning his first and only Pennsylvania high school state championship.
As a 154-pound senior at Hollidaysburg High in 1969, Schalles pinned the two-time defending state champion to cap an undefeated season and an unprecedented 96 percent pin-to-win ratio.
